Domestic Abuse does not have to be physical violence and can take place in a variety of ways including financial and emotional. When it does happen it is important to act swiftly to prevent it from happening again and to make sure that you and your children are safe.
You may find that the abuse is so bad that you have to flee your home and you may find yourself staying with a friend or perhaps in a refuge. in these cases, urgent orders should be obtained and we can help with this often being able to go to Court the same day. Any orders would protect you and your children wherever you may be and if you wish it is possible to apply for Orders requiring your ex-partner to vacate a property to enable you and children to live there if it is nowhere else for you to stay.
In these difficult cases we see victims the same day if possible and go to Court as soon as possible often the same or at least the next day. You may well be entitled to Legal Aid and we would undertake an urgent assessment to check this.
